  • Harry Potter: Mr. and Mrs. Dursley, of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, but everything changed when the fire nation attacked.
  • The Hunger Games: When I was younger, I scared my mother to death, the things I would blurt out about District 12, but everything changed when the fire nation attacked.
  • Game of Thrones: The morning had dawned clear and cold, with a crispness that hinted at the end of summer, but everything changed when the fire nation attacked.
  • Edgar Allan Poe: 'Tis some visitor,' I muttered, `tapping at my chamber door' but everything changed when the fire nation attacked.
  • The Bible: In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth, but everything changed when the fire nation attacked.

Whoo! I don’t even know what to say about this one… but it’s so silly, I should probably be embarrassed about it. XD

One thing I’ve always loved (thanks, Inuyasha fandom!) is ridiculous, angsty, romance AUs. There is nothing better than reading about two people completely in love with one another who can’t seem to figure out how to get together. Now, I don’t mean ~*love triangle crap*~ (sorry, Inuyasha fandom).

Instead, I’m talking about the type of story where two people love each other so much, and they’re so desperate to make each other happy, that they keep ruining their chances to hook up. Mmm! Delicious fluffy drama!

Anyway, the sad fact is that Avatar fandom is just short on AUs in general. I blame all the shipping wars, really. UGH. What more have you cost me, shipping wars??! Look at what you’ve driven me to! Inventing scenes of my own for fics that do not exist. (*Fangirl Problems*)

Ok, uh, I feel like I ought to explain what was in my head when I doodled this.

I suppose it’s the very beginning of the big final romance-y drama scene. Katara is moodily consoling herself on a balcony (so well-drawn!) when Aang arrives to tell her he’s leaving. Maybe he thinks she doesn’t love him. Maybe she’s engaged to someone else! Maybe the Avatar isn’t allowed to marry or something. IDK!

Whatever it is, it’s all about to come to the surface, because Katara isn’t going to be able to let him go without confessing her feelings. (And Aang, no matter how alternate the universe, isn’t going to let Katara’s love go unreciprocated.)

When I look at finished paintings and animated work, it inspires me to…look at more paintings and watch more cartoons. It’s looking at concept sketches and doodles that make me want to draw. And what kind of sucks is that I get the urge to pick up my pencil and immediately go draw something, but I also want to stay and look at more artwork. Character designs and line tests is so FUCKING AMAZING!!! Whenever I’m browsing someone’s tumblr or portfolio site, the sketch section is the first one I go to.
Don’t get me wrong, I’ll drool over a gorgeous painting or illustration when I see one, but I just don’t get inspired by them the way I do with concept work and doodles. I used some Legend of Korra art in the background because I was looking at concept work for season 2 before bed one night, got the urge to draw at 4am, and realized it’s only concept work that makes me do that. Something about seeing the designs and sketches for other projects makes me want to go work on my own.
I don’t know the “official” link for the source, but I found the image here: http://n-princess.tumblr.com/post/24738982144/more-pictures-of-the-upcoming-episodes-probably
